
Celcom collaborates with Kwasa Land to develop a smart township
Celcom Axiata Bhd has agreed with Kwasa Land Sdn Bhd, to become the ‘Preferred ICT Partner’ in the development plan of the upcoming Kwasa Damansara smart township located in Sungai Buloh.
With this agreement, Celcom is responsible for building the foundation for the ICT infrastructure and converged connectivity facilities within the township. Adding to that, Celcom will prepare the smart solutions required to enable Kwasa Land to develop the smart city visualised for Kwasa Damansara.
Kwasa Damansara aims of being a sustainable community township that focuses on three key components, which are Green Township, Connected and Inclusive. These three components are part of Kwasa Land’s ambitious plans for Kwasa Damansara to become a smart township with robust network infrastructure and smart security.
Celcom will be involved in the Kwasa Damansara developments such as the development of township Fiberization, converged 5G connectivity solutions, safety and security smart city solution, digital signages, Dedicated Internet Access for businesses, and common area WiFi connectivity.
Other than providing a solid foundation for Kwasa Damansara to emerge as a smart city in Malaysia, this project will allow Celcom to strengthen its network capability further by implementing new network sites within the township. This is crucial for Celcom to lay the groundwork towards the rollout of 5G technology.

Kwasa Land’s vision in developing Kwasa Damansara as a truly smart city will also be evident through the Kwasa Damansara smart portal. This portal will be established as part of Kwasa Land’s efforts and initiatives in providing the township and its community an integrated system that enables them to access smart solutions and applications to fit the varying needs of the township and its community.
Chief Executive Officer of Celcom Idham Nawawi said the collaboration will mark another milestone for Celcom in the implementation of large-scale ICT infrastructure and a step forward in rolling out its 5G network.

It will also help accelerate the digitisation of businesses within the development. Kwasa Damansara Township Development is approximately 2,257 acres, located within the vicinity of Kota Damansara and Sungai Buloh, Selangor. The area is expected to have over 250,000 residents upon completion.
