Sime Darby Property introduces dto, whereby customers and property developers co-create the property together
Sime Darby Property Bhd has announced a new online platform called dto on 18th April 2019. The platform allows its potential buyers to co-create the property together with the property developer.
Pronounced as “ditto”, the online platform is a home co-creation tool which allows potential customers of Sime Darby Property and the general public to contribute in the decision making of the whole design for the company’s next property.
The co-creation process is done publicly. All you have to do to cast your dto vote is to sign up on the dto website. And this is open to those who are aged 21 and above.
Sime Darby Property Chief Operating Officer Datuk Wan Hashimi Albakri said, “We believe we are the first in the country to pioneer such a concept and we believe it is the future of property buying. I’m positive that when we let potential customers get involved and let them decide on the outcome of the product, it will be something they will want to buy. This will translate well for our sales and also bottom-line moving forward.”
This project consists of three phases whereby customers can vote online. The first is for the external features of the building such as the building colour, driveway pattern and building name.
The second phase is for common facilities which include co-working space, playground design and gym equipment. The third phase is for the internal unit comprising of choice on tiles, sanitary fittings, iron monger and flooring.
Customers would be able to experience and test out the type of installations they want at the Material Display Exhibition and Experience. The exhibition was held during the Official Primetime8 Launch Party on 20th April, in the SJCC Sales Gallery at Subang Jaya.
In conjunction with this new project, Wan Hashimi said Sime Darby Property is planning to launch two high-rise residential projects based on the majority of votes on the dto platform in Subang Jaya which will be launched from the second half of 2019 onwards.
“The co-creation phase for the first project takes place between January and May this year where we will collect all the votes from the public. Once that is done we target to launch the property for sale in August 2019.” he said.
The co-creation phase of Project 2 based in Putra Heights takes place from March 2019 onwards and the property is set to launch in early 2020.
Sime Darby Property would also be unveiling the dto platform on Project 3, a landed property development at a later time.
